"Life's most persistent and urging question is, what are you doing for others?" Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said to an audience in Montgomery, Alabama in 1957 and it could not be more fitting even now. The health and safety of our community and keeping school open are dependent on what "you are doing for others".
This weekend please find the time to give back for the National Day of Service in memory of the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Kindness and service have the power to break down barriers and unite people. Sea Kings, we're doing a fantastic job of teamwork! Share your give-back spirit.

This week continued to present challenges as we navigate this Covid surge. Despite these difficult conditions, our district continues to do everything in our power to limit transmission at school by utilizing a variety of safety procedures and protocols. In addition, this week we added supplemental academic services through our new Teacher Office Hours program to further support our students.
iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (Home Kit) Distribution Today!
All students at school today will be taking home an iHealth COVID-19 Antigen rapid test kit, which contains two Covid tests. The district is requesting that all students take one of the two tests on Monday, January 17, to verify a negative test result prior to returning to school on Tuesday, January 18. Students who test positive are required to notify their school site administrator immediately. Students who test negative are not required to notify the school. Students who are recently recovered from COVID-19 within the last 90 days and are asymptomatic do not need to test.

The time to apply for the high school AVID program is fast approaching!
AVID is a 4-year program for students in the academic middle who have the desire to do better in school and to attend a 4-year college. It is a program for students who are capable of the rigorous curriculum at the high school level but just need some help and support to do so.
The PVIS Booster Club supports an incredibly diverse collection of academic activities, clubs and lunchtime events, music & drama, and athletics. We work to provide a way for every student to feel connected and have a positive middle school experience. 100% of all funds raised during registration will be used to support funding of PVIS’s four A’s – Academics, Activities, Arts and Athletics.
We invite you to join the PVIS PTSA and help support the students, teachers, staff, and parents in the Palos Verdes Intermediate School community in shaping our wonderful and successful school.
