Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

PBIS

PVIS at its BEST

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a research-based, school-wide, tiered systems approach to improve school climate and create safer and more effective schools. ™ PBIS is designed to teach and reinforce positive behaviors among students.

We aim to create a safe, positive, and respectful community that values integrity, academic success, and social and emotional well-being for all students.

At the start of each school year, students participate in school-wide lessons that focus on how to be one's BEST.   Teachers use these lessons to introduce our school-wide behavior matrix and BEST expectations, Digital Citizenship, and Code of Conduct.  See below...

Research shows that middle schoolers do better with phones away during school hours, which is why we require that students leave phones in the locker from the first to the last bell or kindly ask that the phone remain at home.  Thank you for your cooperation.

PVIS celebrates students who give their BEST with monthly pizza drawings, SPARK Awards, and our new Citizenship initiative, which aims to recognize all students who SPARK by earning all O's and S's in citizenship.

Parents, THANK YOU for helping us encourage your children to be their own personal BEST every day by "being safe, encouraging kindness, showing integrity, and taking action"!  We are very grateful for your support, as well as for the support provided to us through our generous PTSA and Booster Club.
