welcome back seekings we hope you had a great summer vacation pandemic or not it always goes by too quickly but we're excited back and look for it again if you don't know where your school counselors I miss is McKenna and I support students with last names that begin with a Pre-K students with last name we're glad you asked school counselors are specially trained to Sports 2 they're academics and College and Career readiness we schedule you into the appropriate explore careers as far as the social emotional for his concerns will do social emotional learning we can help you through friendship and Care issues family challenges maybe you're just having a bad day or even if you just feel like saying hi we're always happy to hear from you while we may not be on campus right now we're still available for you just like you're doing we are working from our virtual offices and keep regular school hours for few simple way in teams of the chat feature we can also meet is virtually all you can email us and we'll make sure to reply during our regular office hours usually within the first day or two we can see if it's something that you want to talk about or if your parent would like to meet with us again we're available for you confidential that's a really big word as your counselor you can feel comfortable sharing with us your hopes and dreams for the future as well as your challenges and frustrations we respect confidentiality which means that we will not share what you tell us in confidence however there are some limits to this confidentiality if you tell us that someone is hurting you that you're going to hurt someone or that you're hurting yourself we will work with you to make sure that you got the help and support that you need you can always fine for an information at our school's website at PBIS pvpusd.net it's also known as edlio this is a direct link to our counseling programs we do our best to keep it up today okay so for some fun facts about yours truly I attended pvschools from the third grade on I have a 7 year old daughter and a four-year-old son I taught ballet to children and adults for 20 years in dance studio settings and dance teacher in this school district for nearly 10 years I'm grateful for family and friends I believe all children are capable of great things and I love being a c k mr. Sands was born and raised in Spain he's been a counselor at PV Intermediate School for 18 years for the last 20 years he's played Clara's father in Long Beach ballet's production of The Nutcracker last cracker season he believes all children are capable of great things and he loves being a seat King says you can see mr. Sands and I share a lot in common most importantly our belief in you now that you've gotten to know more about us we like to hear about you this is our first official counselor check-in here's how it works simply answer the questions form and submit it and that's right here where it says click here to access the form so you would click on the form opens up and right there in the form you respond to the questions are all very brief you hit submit and it goes directly to mr. Sands and me only for us to see very easy very simple strachan's every other week for the first trimester through your PE class in order to get to know you better and to also make sure that you continue to be well and feel well and to be engaged with school PBIS students are required to participate in these quick check in okay so this is this is a requirement and I'm going to be talking with your PE teachers about making sure that you got appropriate credit in your class for these check-ins also I want to make sure that you know that if for whatever reason we're seeing that you're not participating in the check-ins we will be reaching out your parents to make sure that everything's okay to just give you a friendly reminder that that this is something that we're doing throughout the first trimester Shopkins I'd love it if you could submit it by this Friday August 28th again it won't take you more than a couple minutes to do so don't procrastinate get right on it like I said it's a great way for us get to know you a little bit better go get them we believe now
