HW-Copy/paste your 1st draft and then make (3) revisions/edit in writing assignment (should be in Office 365). Print out and bring to class!

Notebook Check

1. Discuss unit theme: What makes a society just or unjust
 
2. Complete in-class research assignment (reviews Blast: Powers that Be in your online Binder) and read any of the research link articles for quotes/evidence. Write down 5 quotes along with source and use for group research project and also notebook.
 
HW-Have notebook ready for a "check" on Monday. See attached.

2. Review model peer writing and discuss elements of good writing

Unit 1 Grammar Quiz Study Guide

1. Discussed Focus questions as a class to prep for writing assignment in SS.
 
2. Worked on Wise Old Woman writing response (use template on Edlio homepage) in SS. Complete the vocab and writing sections of the assignment. Copy paste from Office 365 into SS when done and submit.
 
3. Grammar quiz on Unit 1 tomorrow--use attached study guide.

2. Discussed (3) sections all students should have in binders: Reading (StudySync and Core Lit), Grammar (Unit 1 lessons) and Writing (Letter to Self, Gladiator and Lottery responses). Stamped for completion in class.
 
3. Completed SS online grammar lessons (there are 3 total but all look alike with red balloons!): simple subject/pred, compound subject/pred, & complete sub/pred)

3. Worked on SS Close Read assignment (listened to intro, completed vocab for story, and started on writing prompt). Kids made draft in 365 Office and then copied and pasted into StudySync Close Read for submission.
