Scheduling for Fall 2025
SCHEDULE CHANGES
Schedule changes are made for the following reasons only:
- Student has a missing class (Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Science, Elective or PE)
- Student has two identical classes or duplicate periods listed
- Student was placed in an incorrect class (e.g. placed in regular math when recommended for accelerated)
Schedule changes will not be made for:
- Teacher preference
- Period requests
Please note that elective requests are based upon space availability. Elective changes can only be considered when space is available.

INCOMING 6TH GRADERS
Please review the presentation and SUBMIT the Course Scheduling Form by Friday, May 2, 2025.

INCOMING 7TH GRADERS
Counselors will be meeting with students through Social Studies classes in March and April. On the first visit, counselors will deliver the scheduling presentation and distribute the 7th grade Scheduling Sheets. On the second visit, counselors will meet briefly with students to review their Scheduling Sheets and distribute the Course Recommendations.

- Students interested in Leadership as their elective must submit their APPLICATION by Tuesday, April 15th.

- Students interested in Sea King News as their elective must submit their APPLICATION by Sunday, April 13.

- Students interested in Leadership as their elective must submit their APPLICATION by Tuesday, April 15th.
- Bridge to Algebra Information: Students currently in PVC Math 7 who have been recommended for Algebra must take the Bridge to Algebra to be prepared for the class. This can be accomplished one of two ways-- either through PVPSS or as an Independent Study.

PVIS COURSE HANDBOOK
REQUEST FOR PLACEMENT FORM
If you are requesting that your student be placed in a different level class than what his/her teacher(s) recommended, you must complete the Request for Placement Form and email it to your counselor or bring it to the office by the May 23, 2025 deadline.
INDEPENDENT STUDY P.E.
Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA, and the out-of-school activity being proposed must:
- Be instructed under the direct supervision of a credentialed or otherwise qualified coach who is at least twenty-one years of age;
- Consist of instruction that includes a minimum of ten hours a week, Monday-Friday, in the student’s competitive sport;
- Incorporate research and learning in the District health standards;
- Incorporate the P.E. Model Content Standards mandated by the state and District;1
- Include a student journal (Time Activity Log) documenting progress in the content standards as explained by the
general supervising P.E. teacher.
