Mrs. Kier - Science

7/14/2025
Happy Summer and Welcome Back!
I am so excited to be back again for another great year of science at PVIS!!
8th grade science covers a variety of topics that can include:
- Force and Motion
- Newton's Laws
- Potential and Kinetic Energy
- Sound and Light Waves
- Noncontact Forces (Magnetism and Electromagnetic Forces, Gravity)
- Planetary Science
- Heredity and Adaptations
The most important item on this list is your science notebook.
You will use it in class EVERYDAY! This notebook will serve as your folder, notebook, and binder as an all-in-one tool. ***it should NOT be perforated, and should not be glue bound! It will fall apart due to how much you are using it!*** Spiral or string bound (composition) only :) Trust me! I highly recommend the note-booking notebook because its larger than a typical composition book and its sturdy! I have posted direct links in the materials list for you!
If you are interested in donating to the science department, I have also included a link to the science department shared Amazon wish list at the bottom of the supply list document. Any donations are always welcome!
Finally those buttons to the left will be updated to link to the online agenda where you can find daily classwork and homework. I also post additional study resources here to help students if you need a little support on the daily lessons. This is your lifeline to my class, so make sure you know how to access them!
I can't wait to meet you all!
Enjoy the rest of your summer,
Mrs. Kier
