Screenwriting

Dates: Thursdays, January 11, 18, 25, February 1, 8 (5 weeks)

Time: 4:00 – 5:30pm

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students learn the basic art of writing a scene as they explore the elements of crafting stories for film and television. They will learn how to correctly format a screenplay as they explore key elements and techniques to guide dialogue and action. They’ll be introduced to screenwriting terminology and become skilled at evaluating a story for its storytelling potential. Finally, they will get to see their completed handiwork as they team up and perform their pieces.

Please note that students must “bring their own device” to this class.
