At PVIS, it is our goal to have technology in our classrooms that will allow our students to thrive and flourish. We are seeing an increasing need for this classroom technology beyond the number of Chromebooks we currently have on campus. Through the PVIS Chromebook drive, we are hoping to have devices available for students in every Language Arts classroom, as well as a system of shared devices across all other curricular areas.
When introduced in a classroom setting, the Chromebook can have a tremendous impact on creativity, collaboration, and exploration. With the documents and applications living on the web, projects and curriculum are accessible to students whether they are in school or at home. Increasingly our school curriculum and supplemental materials have online components that enhance our student learning and support engaged instruction. In providing students with these devices, they gain unprecedented access to resources and information.
When incorporating instructional technology into the classroom, our students are often more receptive and engaged in the teaching and learning. This incorporation of technology allows our students to learn digital fluency through both academic and practical application, which prepares them for high school, college and beyond. They learn how to access, comprehend and synthesize information while communicating that knowledge to others.
As a school community, we are hoping our families will support our Chromebook drive through any amount of donation, bringing much-needed technology into our classrooms. Additional information regarding this drive will be sent home on Monday through your student’s Language Arts class.
At PVIS, we have amazing students who are learning from innovative educators, and we are eager to enhance both the teaching and learning through the addition of more Chromebooks in our classrooms. Thank you for your continued support of all we do at PVIS. Our school community would not be thriving without our generous and supportive families.
With gratitude,
