PVIS Families,
With the high school open houses completed we have officially begun planning for next year. Reminder to 8th grade families to officially make your high school selection choice as soon as possible. Next month, I will be visiting our elementary school feeders to meet with our rising 6th graders. Also next month (3/4), all three middle schools will host an open house for 5th grade parents. Finally, in April our returning students will place their course requests for the 26-27 school year. If you have any questions about scheduling, you can email your School Counselor.
February is also Black History Month, and we will be honoring this important time with a schoolwide classroom door poster contest. Each class will select a notable individual, group, or team and highlight their accomplishments and contributions. Our Leadership class will vote on the posters, and the winning class will celebrate with a Jamba Juice party.
In addition, our Language Arts Department will be recognizing Black History Month through a voluntary Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest. This year’s theme invites students to reflect on the true purpose of education and its role in shaping thoughtful, responsible, and engaged members of society. Through personal reflection and meaningful writing, students will explore how Dr. King’s message continues to influence learning, leadership, and character today.
Have a great weekend Sea Kings!
Be Legendary...
Micah J. Farrell, Principal
