Principal's Update 10-10-25

PVIS Families,

Happy Friday! The first quarter has come to an end and progress reports are available/posted in your Aeries parent portal.

f

Here are instructions to access progress reports (qrt grade) and/or trimester (final grades).

Progress reports (qrt grades) are based on the following:

C- or below in a regular class based on the student’s current performance

B- or below in an accelerated class based on the student’s current performance

Citizenship grade of N or U based on the student’s current performance

At PVIS we believe Citizenship grades are equally as important as acade

mic grades and are a vital part of your child’s overall success in middle school. While academic achievement measures what students know and can do, citizenship reflects who they are becoming as individuals, community members, and learners.

At PVIS, we believe that strong citizenship demonstrated through respect, responsibility, and participation (active engagement) goes hand-in-hand with academic growth. Students who show up prepared, treat others kindly, and contribute positively to their classes often experience greater confidence, stronger peer connections, and improved academic outcomes. These qualities don’t just make for a better classroom environment, they build habits that lead to lifelong success.

Citizenship grades also provide meaningful insight into a student’s personal and social wellbeing. Consistent effort, empathy, and integrity are essential life skills that help students navigate challenges, build healthy relationships, and take ownership of their choices. By reinforcing these values both at home and at school, we help our students develop into thoughtful, responsible young adults who care for themselves and their community.

Thank you for continuing to support your child in being their best self academically, socially, and personally.

In partnership,

Micah J. Farrell, Principal
