PVIS Families,

Happy FriYAY!  Fall is officially here, and we are in full swing! Did you know our Booster Club helps provide amazing extracurricular opportunities for our students?

Nearly every day, they sponsor lunchtime clubs such as Chess, STEM, and Band. After school, athletic offerings change each trimester. Right now, we’re enjoying Flag Football, Girls Volleyball, and Cross Country. Next trimester, students can look forward to Boys & Girls Basketball and Soccer.

Get Involved. Stay Involved.

Palos Verdes Intermediate School NJHS Chapter Wins National Award for Service Award of Excellence

fdg

Palos Verdes Estates, CA – For its exemplary record of leadership, service and efforts to improve the school and community, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) awarded the Palos Verdes Intermediate School NJHS chapter the Service Award of Excellence. NJHS is supported by its parent organization, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), which also oversees the National Association of Student Councils.

"The NJHS Chapter Pillar Awards celebrate chapters that truly embody what the National Junior Honor Society stands for—students who don't just excel academically but actively strengthen their communities," said NASSP CEO Ronn Nozoe. "The Palos Verdes Intermediate School chapter demonstrates how powerful it can be when young leaders channel their talents toward meaningful service and positive change."

Adam Jahan-Parwar, 2025-2026 NJHS president, said “I am so proud of our NJHS Chapter. I think we worked very hard for this award throughout the year. I am most proud of our drive to support students in the Pasadena School District who lost everything after the LA Fires”.
The NJHS Chapter Pillar Awards are prestigious recognitions to celebrate the outstanding achievements of NJHS chapters across the country. In addition to basic requirements, the chapters must have demonstrated successful activities that exemplify one or all of the core values of NJHS: scholarship, leadership, service and character.
