Sea Kings Families, 

As we close the 2023-24 school year, I would like to thank our students, staff, and parents for helping make PVIS a special place. This year we were named a California Distinguished School, for the second time in four years! We saw gains in our CAASP scores with 72% of all students at or above grade level in math and 80% at or above grade level in ELA (English Language Arts). We improved in our efforts to connect with students as evidenced by our California Healthy Kids Survey (7th grade) with +8%. Beyond the data and awards, we strive to make our school a safe and welcoming place for students. Middle school is tough and perhaps the most crucial of times for young people learning about themselves, managing relationships, and how to be successful in school. With this in mind, we work to support and guide students along the way, we may not always hit our mark, but we always show up and try to do better the next day.  

I wish our promoting students the best of luck in the next chapter of their lives and welcome our newest Sea Kings as they start their important stage of middle school.
