Sea Kings Families,
The best thing that happened this week was the return of girls' volleyball and flag football. We ran tryouts last week and had a phenomenal turnout, with well over double the number of students compared to years past. I am so appreciative of all of the responses we received to our call to help save both programs for our kids. Our cross-country team continues to shine and had multiple top-ten finishes in last week's Mt. Sac Invitational. Walking around campus after school seeing students participating in athletics and hearing the sounds from our PVIS band rehearsing is genuinely a heart-warming feeling.
Our Leadership class has planned fun events this Friday, starting on campus with a costume contest and that evening with a family movie night.
Registration is required for the costume contest,
Student costumes are not mandatory, but if they do wish to participate, please help us in making sure they follow some respectful guidelines that will keep the festival fun:
- No weapons of any kind or toys that resemble weapons.
- No costumes with wheels (skates, skateboards, etc.).
- No projectiles (silly string, water guns, balloons filled with anything).
- No drugs or alcohol references or overtones.
- No costumes that may be offensive to any race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or socioeconomic status.
- Undergarments may not be visible.
- Clothes must be of appropriate length.
- No bathing suits may be worn.
- Shoes are required.
On October 29, from 6–9 pm on the PVIS small field, join us for our Halloween movie night. $10.00 tickets will be sold to benefit our leadership program during the week of October 24 in front of the school. Concessions will also be available for sale.
Please note that masking, health screening, and social distancing will be enforced during the event.
Finally, we are prepared to shift to a modified rainy day schedule tomorrow, Monday, October 25 (same start and end times). We want to be sure we can maintain safe social distance protocols and keep everyone warm and dry.
Thank you again for your continued support. We truly have the very best parents, teachers, and staff!
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything.
Sincerely,
Micah J. Farrell

PVIS Students Volunteer for the Superintendent Roundtable
I am proud to report that we had a significant number of PVIS students volunteer to serve on the Superintendent's Intermediate Roundtable. Our students and students from RIS and MIS will meet once per month on Zoom with Dr. Cherniss to provide student feedback on important topics at the middle school level.
