A Message from Dr. Cherniss:
As we are now in the fall season and over six weeks into the school year, it is appropriate to take a moment and acknowledge our many successes. All of our schools have remained open full time and we have seen very few COVID cases among our staff and students. Our high school’s athletics, arts, STEM programs and various clubs have flourished with students reengaging in extra-curricular activities that make school extra special for so many kids. We’ve had our PTA’s convene their first meetings with record levels of attendance and our Peninsula Education Foundation is off and running toward another hugely successful fundraising year.
State Student and Staff Vaccine Mandate:
On Friday, October 1, Governor Newsom announced that the COVID vaccine will be mandated for all staff and students. This mandate will be implemented in the school term upon full FDA approval. The vaccine mandate will be implemented by the State in two phases at either January 1st or July 1st of the coming year.
Phase 1: Grades 7-12 and All School Staff (Pending FDA full approval)
Phase 2: Grades Tk-6 (Pending FDA full approval).
Therefore, it is very possible that by January 1, 2022, all students in grades 7-12 and all staff will be required to show proof of vaccination. Additionally, it is possible that by July 1st, 2022 all students in grades Tk-6 will be required to show proof of vaccination.

Covid Vaccine Booster Clinic
The district will be offering another community Covid Vaccine Clinic on Friday, October 15th.
When: Friday, October 15, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: The clinic will be held at the District Office located at 375 Via Almar, Palos Verdes Estates, California. Room # will be posted on the district Covid-19 website page.
Vaccine Offered: This clinic will offer the PFIZER 1st, 2nd dose and Booster Covid-19 vaccine.
Participants must be 12 years or older.
Flu Shot: Flu shots will also be offered to eligible participants with insurance at the clinic on October 15th.
Appointments Required?
Appointments are highly recommended. Walk-ins will be available but limited.
