Spring Break & Travel Guidelines

From the Our School Nurse

Dear Families,

I know everyone is looking forward to Spring Break. Spring is a time of renewal, and our break from school and responsibilities will be rejuvenating. As a reminder, LA County Department of Public Health is still advising us “to avoid all non-essential travel and stay within 120 miles from their place of residence, unless they are traveling for essential purposes.”

"Non-essential travel" includes travel that is considered tourism or recreational in nature.” As much as it feels essential for our mental health to get away, the concern is for COVID-19 variants that are not yet in our county.

“If you do travel into Los Angeles County from outside of California, you need to self-quarantine for 10 days after you arrive and must limit your interactions to people in your household/people with whom you live.”

This means, if you travel during Spring Break and come home on that Sunday, the first day that your child can come to school/on-campus activities/sports is April 15.

The out-of-state/out-of-country quarantine is not changed with vaccination.

Please do relax and rejuvenate. Be safe and stay well. Please read the current travel guidelines for LA County. 6th grade families cooperation with the guidelines is very much appreciated as we have worked and will continue to keep our PVIS community healthy and safe. #TravelLocal
