We fully acknowledge the concerns with screen time and asynchronous work, and are committed to getting it right for students.
Teachers have begun adjusting their daily schedules, and will continue to provide direct instruction/synchronous work for half of the given class and then release students to work independently with cameras off or even offline in some classes. The idea is to try to cut down on overall screen time, allowing time during class to complete assignments, as opposed to after a full day of synchronous instruction. Teachers will remain available for student questions and support during the second half of class.
Additionally, we have confirmed that all Wednesday minimum days will remain as such, and not be changed due to holidays/early dismissals.
