Superintendent's Message | September 17, 2020

Currently, preparations are already being made so that students and staff can return to our schools safely.  Effective this week, all staff working on our campuses must go through our e-screening tool and receive "green fast pass" which they must show prior to entering school.  This same e-screening tool will be required by all students when they return to campuses in our hybrid model, and can be accessed here at  https://www.bchd.org/covid-schools .

In addition to the return of our Hybrid Programs, we have welcomed back out preschool students and various special education student programs over the last several weeks.  The district will also be expanded the return of these programs over the next several weeks and months.

At the high school levels, we are currently preparing for a return of our athletics programs on a voluntary basis under the guidance of LA DPH.  These program will return to our campuses at the beginning of October.

Finally, please exercise patience and understanding with our teachers and staff during this challenging time.  I have been so impressed with our teachers and support staff who have been working tirelessly to best support our students.  This entire program is a work in progress and there are, and will continue to be, bumps along the road.  We hope that the remote learning programs continue to improve as we move further along in the school year.  We have also collected survey data from parents and staff on the efficacy of our remote learning programs.  We will evaluate this information and may make some adjustments to the programs to better serve our students.  We may also be sending out more detailed level specific surveys in the near future in order to gain deeper insight into the effectiveness of our remote instructional programs.
