We have accomplished much in two weeks of long distance education together, and for that I thank you. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to learn what works best  for our students during this period of great change. Thank you to those who sent words of encouragement to our teachers for the wonderful work they have done. I have witnessed the greatness of people at our school and across our country despite adversity; it reassures me that we will get through these difficult times together.

In order to provide our students and families much needed structure, and from the input of staff, we have developed a daily schedule that will begin April 6th, but is subject to change.k Please understand that the District is in the process of negotiating the impact of this school closure and online extended learning with our teachers, which could cause alterations to this proposed schedule. I have asked our teachers to the best of their ability, to adhere to this schedule. Thank you for your understanding in this process.

Through the process of extended education we have also learned how valuable 'live teacher interaction' is for students. Many teachers have established a set routine for video sessions with students, and many more are currently learning to use the live video/chat tools to be able to bring more availability to students. I very much appreciate our teacher's willingness to learn on the fly, while still working on day-to-day academic instruction and managing family life. We will continue to do our best to give students more live content.

On school closure. Currently, we are closed and scheduled to return to school April 20th. Please note that our District is following the guidance from our state governor and the "Safer at Home" order. Please refrain from visiting our campuses until the state has lifted the "Safer At Home" order. The District will continue to reassess school closure based on the direction of our Governor. Parents will be notified of any changes to our current status. Please also refer to the District website for up-to-date information regarding COVID-19. 7th
To our 7th grade families, as you may have assumed based on our return date of April 20th, the overnight science trip to PALI has been canceled. It is of course unfortunate that our students will miss this opportunity, and we understand they will be disappointed. Thank you teachers, staff, and parents that worked to organize the trip to PALI.
We are currently working on reimbursement for our parents, you will be contacted shortly with further information regarding reimbursement.

fIn closing, spring break is upon us and is much needed. This break will be one for the record books, I encourage all of you to make the most of the precious time we have together and be thankful for our health and those that are working tirelessly to ensure it. Our family came up with a schedule for the week, you are welcome to join in on the fun too.

Please know, although we find ourselves in uncertain times, one thing remains certain...PVIS is a family and community that has always supported and cared for one another and will continue to do so even in these difficult times.  Our leadership and staff are here for you. Please reach out to any of us for assistance.

Stay safe, healthy and please remember to

Take care of yourself

Take care of one another

and BE KIND!

Thank you.

Be Well-
Your Proud Principal
