70 Minute Reading Log
Every week students will be assigned 70 minutes of independent reading as homework. In this assignment students are to collect five (5) additional vocabulary words found in their reading and write the words down with their definitions in their Vocabulary Composition Book.
In their Vocabulary Composition book students must follow their vocabulary words with a paragraph summarizing what was read for the week. The assignment will be due at the end of every school week.
Students should finish one book per month in the following genre:
August/September - Student Choice
October - Horror
November/December - Science Fiction/ Fantasy
January - Autobiography/ Biography
February - Historical Fiction
March - Fiction
April - Non-Fiction/ Informational
May/June - Student Choice
**Books must be within students independent reading comfort lexile level and approved by myself and parent prior to reading.
