Rewrite of expository Giver essay. Type or handwrite. Please make (5) changes on new copy of essay highlight changes. Explain each change in (1) or more sentences as to what you changed and WHY.

In-class expository essay assignment (students may use their texts, notes, and Socratic seminar notes) to complete the essay. Students will be given (2) days to draft the essay. Assignment requirements and essay prompt will be posted early next week, after the students have received the assignment tomorrow.

Notebook entries for Unit 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 are due this Friday. Points for effort and completion. Notebook can be submitted either online or handwritten.

1st Outside Reading assignment due (50 pages). Just read. And be ready to answer a question about your reading when you come to class (write a one paragraph response or conference with me). As long as you did the reading, you will be completely prepared, promise! Bring your book.

 

***We will use NovelWise  program from the HRW Pilot adoption which can also be found on-line.

Please choose an outside reading novel and bring to class by 9/6. You must read 50 pages a week with one weekly journal entry. You are free to choose any genre as well as length, but please remember that the content must be age-appropriate and contain a minimum of 50 pages per week to read. Feel free to ask me if you have questions about your selection.
