Dance Lesson Plans Wednesday, February 5

Dance 1st & 2nd
 
Take attendance
If it is raining and none of the PE classes are changing get assistance logging on to watch Dance Moms on Youtube or Disney Plus through desktop and white board projector.
 
If changing and dancing then project the following on white board for dancers to follow:
 
 
1st period leaders: Nova, Kat, Olivia Z., Catherine, and Ava J.
2nd period leaders:  Josephine, Emilya, Taylor, Alyssa, Ava S, and Alice
 
Stretch to 1 song with  curl-ups and push-ups

Across the Floor:
Running flaps
Flap ball change with arms Right and left ( it is like alternating chasse that we did in basics but with a flap first)
Buffalo right & left
Drawbacks
Irish Front & back right & left
 
Run dance to Tears of a Clown by English Beat
 
Break into groups of 5-6 and choreograph 4 counts of 8 of tap choreography  
Present choreography to class last 10 minutes before changing
 
I will be at PVIS in time to start Drama 3rd period
Students assigned parts in High School Musical need to start memorizing lines.
Everyone needs to review choreography to "We're All in This Together " that they are being tested on  tomorrow.

Across the Floor:

Warm up:
Watch example of Group Walk, see if you can do the exercise starting from a sit-down position, slowly stand up, walk, jog, walk, and finally sit back down again all without making any noise....FOCUS

Thursday, January 30 Lesson Plans

Dance 1st & 2nd
 
Remind Dance that fitness log homework is due tomorrow.  I would like them to have their name on top of the paper and turn it in to sub tomorrow.
 
1st period leaders: Nova, Kat, Olivia Z., Catherine, and Ava J.
2nd period leaders:  Josephine, Emilya, Taylor, Alyssa, Ava S, and Alice
 
Repeat barre from yesterday leave barres out and have leaders demonstrate drawbacks brush heel step going backwards across the floor the barre is used for balance and you can have 4 people going at the same time (1 along each side of the barre)  they should demonstrate balancing  on the front heel and back toe before brushing the front toe back, holding that foot up while dropping the  supporting heel then stepping back on the toe of the foot that was up and repeating on the other side.   I usually say brush heel step so they will remember what to actually do( use a song from the tap play list)
Remove the barres and come center for push-ups, curl-ups, and stretching 1 song
 
Across the Floor:
Try the draw backs across the floor without the barre right & left
Running flaps Right and left
Pattern of 3 flaps 1 shuffle heel it alternates right and left across the floor because the shuffle heel finishes with the next flap foot finishing up (make sure shuffle finishes up and you drop supporting heel)

Practice newest step from dance center floor:
2 paddles ( dig brush toe heel dig brush toe heel)
Cramp roll (toe toe heel heel)
Brush heel toe heel repeat starting from paddles on the other side
 
Run whole dance to Tears From a Clown  
Have them run it in 2 groups 
 
3rd period Drama

Break into 3 circles (9-10 per circle) and follow your teacher's instruction of "Heads Down" or "Heads up" and if you make eye contact with someone in your circle you must die dramatically as you sit down.  DON'T CHEAT!
 
 Practice the scene/parts you are going to audition for next week and stage it with all the characters in multiple groups.  You will presenting this to me next week for performance points  for minimum 25 minutes.
 
2 New Reflection questions exit ticket for points, each must be answered with 2 complete sentences 
  1. Did you make any character choice changes from yesterday?  Why or why not?
  2. What was your favorite part of "Heads up" Heads Down"?  Why?
 
 
5th period PE

Take roll and run a lap before sitting in Teams

Wednesday Drama Lesson Plans

Warm up:
 
Make 5 circles and sit down, perform 1 word story for 5 minutes
 
 Practice the scene/parts you are going to audition for next week and stage it with all the characters in multiple groups.  You will be presenting this to me next week for performance points  for minimum 25 minutes.
 
2 Reflection questions exit ticket for points, each must be answered with 2 complete sentences 
  1.  How is your character going to show their personality and stand out in the scene without using your voice?
  2. Do you need to change your voice in order to become your character, why or why not?
