Each new school year brings a sense of joy and enthusiasm for me. It is a chance to start fresh, learn new things, and meet new people. The start of the school year is an excellent opportunity for us to reflect on where we have been and what we have accomplished, and then set new goals for our learning.
The start to this school year is particularly exciting for me as I become the new principal of Palos Verdes Intermediate School. As I start my 18th year in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, I could not be happier to begin this school year at PVIS, where I first began my career. This school is where I discovered my passion for working with kids and guiding them through their educational journey. I am honored to have spent my career in this tremendous district at both the intermediate and high school levels as a Counselor and most recently, as Associate Principal. Throughout this time, I have remained committed to my philosophy of putting students first and supporting a learning environment that addresses the whole child.
I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to work with the PVIS faculty, staff, parents and students. I have been impressed by the commitment and dedication from this learning community to provide our students with the highest level of education while remaining focused on their social emotional needs. It is incredibly important that we equip our students with the skills and tools necessary to achieve their highest potential; academically, personally and socially. This year, we will guide our young sixth-grade students through this new journey of middle school. Our seventh-grade students will gain the next set of skills to continue on their path. The final set of learning tools will be given to our eighth-grade students as they prepare for their transition to high school.
Intermediate school is a critical time of growth and development. We remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence in education for all students. As we start this school year, I hope you too can be filled with a sense of joy and renewal, a time to reflect and set new goals. I feel privileged to work in this wonderful community and I could not be more proud to be your Principal. I look forward to meeting your families as we start an amazing school year!
Welcome back to school Sea Kings!
